Our care home is designed to provide the best possible environment for people living with dementia. With a traditional setting and period features, our beautifully appointed home is located in the hillside area of Weston-super-Mare.

Butterfly House has undergone a complete refurbishment and has been furnished to an extremely high standard. Everything we do has been designed in conjunction with the latest thinking in dementia care. For example, all of our bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms and specialised dementia care furniture. We are always planning additional features that prove our commitment to excellent quality dementia care, including an  interactive Tovertafel projector and various different areas within the home that that provide variety and stimulation. Outside, our  interactive garden provides the opportunity to experience a range of relaxing activities while getting some fresh air and exercise.

Day Care: We are able to offer regular day care within the home. This is a popular service and is available every day of the week. Please contact the home for details.

Respite care: We have a dedicated respite bed which allows relatives to pre-book respite for specific times. This facility is often used in conjunction with planned day care. Please do contact the home if you would like to discuss availability.

We take the security of our home seriously. This provides reassurance for our service users and their loved ones as well as for our staff. We have adopted various measures designed to protect our service users, including physical features such as can be seen in our secure garden areas. We have recently (Oct 2021) commissioned the installation of a CCTV system in the communal areas of the home which will serve various purposes, including enabling loved ones to see how our care is delivered.

At Butterfly House we use a team approach to dementia care. Our team not only consists of all levels of staff, including volunteers, but relatives and advocates. Our person-centred philosophy, where service users are encouraged to participate in all areas of the home, seeks to provide the best opportunity to maintain independence and encourage stimulation.

As we operate on the principle of continuous development and improvement, we actively seek opinion and suggestions from service users and their loved ones via regular surveys and meetings as well as through personal feedback.
